Did you see the World Cup final? Unbelievable! To have an amazing career tainted by such an ugly display....and to lose the match in the bargain....to those of you who did not see...the star player for the French, who is retiring after this game from an incredible career, lost his temper and flagrantly head butted an Italian player getting himself thrown out of the match which the French eventually lost.
Just goes to show that what is inside will come out under pressure....its true for all of us isn't it? I hope I ooze grace and mercy when the heat is on...but I know that sometimes ugly things come out, just when I most want to stay under control, or "be a good witness"....
I don't think the Lord is ever surprised by what comes out of us, becuase He knows our hearts already, but I sure am surprised sometimes...guess He wants me to be aware, yet again, just how dark my heart can be....it keeps me needing to be filled up more and more with Him...so He can be what oozes out of me when the pressure is on.
Did you see Pirates?? spooky, fun and funny(I laughed a lot)...never cared for Johnny Depp til he became a pirate :).......but just when you think the movie is finally going somewhere......its over til next year! I have no spiritual metaphors for this one....only frustration......we have to wait til next May?!?! :)
Ahhh, happy Monday!

AND I love this post.....He does know our hearts and loves us anyway...what an amazing God!!!
Well now I will go see POC I had been waiting for a personal opinion.....thanks for that too!!
Great post! The guys in my office are all talking about the soccer fiasco as I read this!
I have loved Johnny since 21 Jump Street - LOL!
I am glad you enjoyed the movie!
The spiritual metaphors for the first part of the post were good!
Thanks for your comment.
In case you'd like a little more about my trip, I just posted a new one (lots of pictues at the bottom!).
Thank you for your frequent visits and kind words!

yeah, hub and i were talking about how sad for the french soccer guy. no chance to redeem himself. he was in the world cup, everyone saw. and he isn't coming back. and yes he was under great pressure and physical weariness, but he blew it, bottem line. i guess i feel sad for him b/c its a reminder of our own desperate humanity..........and sorry, i could not appreciate pirates. my hub loved it. i just couldn't get anything out of it. johnny depp was funny, but that wasn't enuf to make it worthwhile movie for me...
:) i just read my comment and i thought well, that kinda sounds like a downer. i DID like your post, though! :) and how is that little jada?
Bek, can't say I loved PIrates but it was a diversion and a funny one...I think #3 will be the winner...this one was definitley a bridge...Jada finally went home from hospital and is due follow ups with 2 drs this week...possibly she will be coming to visit after the drs give the all clear...I'll definitley post on that! :)
Thanks for your comments on my post and what a wonderful way to have God direct me to your post! I'm going to do some "back reading" now of your blogs and see what else I've been missing! God Bless!
I love what you said here...it's so true...and I think we all struggle during the pressure times...I know I do. Thanks so much for posting this!
I hate a bad sport. Didn't see the world cup, but it sounds like I missed a nail biter. As for Pirates, I can't wait to see it on DVD. However, it sounds like, if you are anxious for the next one, they have done their job quite well.
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your "spiritual metaphors"!! My husband and I are trying to arrange a date night to see my favorite "pirate"...I have heard mixed reviews..but being the Johnny Depp groupie that I am...I am sure I won't be too disappointed.
I loved the movie!!! Best part of a terrible, yucky week!!
I hate to wait too, Jack Sparrow had to survive for more kisses!!!
:-D
I didn't see the game but Rob is sure the guy said all manner of evil things to ZZ before the headbutt. Probably so but even still I hope it will be an example for us. You have a great knack for turning things into a life lesson! One of your gifts : )
Yes ... very true ...
Gosh ... did not see the final! Didn't even know there was one! That's what not having a male in the house anymore does ;) I used to know about all the sports and keep up with them ... now? Now I'm just living one full day at a time!
Not only is it true that what is in our hearts will be revealed in truth, but it will also affect a lot of other people - for good or bad. GOSH! He will never be forgotten ...
