Fire vs.Water

Wow! What great thoughts I got back on my water vs fire question. Hope you were stirred to deeper thought...I know I was. There were several things mentioned that I hadn't thought of and I thought I had covered it all...:) For example, I hadn't considered quantities...nor had I thought about what each leaves behind. I think I would have to say I was thinking in terms of this planet, rather than the entire universe since it more readily applies to me(and of course we all know its all about us...lol)....I was thinking in terms of power being a composite of destructive and beneficial forces....lots of good thoughts to chew on now...:)
The Lord is speaking something to me in all of this but I'm not really sure yet exactly what. There is much to be gleaned that can be applied to our spiritual walk but I don't think I've gotten to the one thing or the main thing He is speaking. This has been going on since July when we were in the mountains.....
If anything else comes to you, let me know, K?

Gee, I wish I had gotten in on the original comment page....

but here goes....

I didn't see anywhere anyone commenting on the life that fire brings. (unless I just missed it). I read about the life that water brings....but fire also brings new life --RENEWS life. In fact, any Forest Ranger will tell you that it's necessary to the ecological balance of a forest to have areas of burn-out every now and then.

In this article, fire is spoken of as having "creative action"...

The fire destroys everything in its path --but up from the ashes grow all the new seedlings --the young plants --the food that will sustain the creatures --the hope of a future. My vote is for Fire ---beauty from the ashes!

Oh man, wish I would have gotten into this very interesting convo! After reading through the comments though, I must say that I am going to stick with my first thought...water, for many of the same reasons others listed.
But I am VERY interested to hear what God speaks to you...looking forward to the next post!!! :):):):)

Oh, just read Debs comment about fire. And I do agree, but without cleansing water, what will grow...hmmm, seems like maybe they work together...hand in hand...more interesting thoughts...now I am VERY excited to see what God reveales to you, Cheryl!!!

All philosphies are composed of opposites that keep each other in check. Fire and water, yin and yang, good and evil, etc. Forests need to burn every so often in order to survive and grow. Wierd I know.
