Feeling like myself....

Ever have days when you just don't feel like yourself? My SILs and I were discussing this, apparently female phenomenon, over the weekend....each of us admitted that we have alter egos who appear at the worst possible times. (perhaps they are hormone related...tee hee). One of my SILs calls hers Lesterette, after her father's impatient attitude. I shared that sisters in my house church once named ours what ever our names spelled in reverse....ie Mary would be Yram, Nicole would be Elocin, mine was Lyrehc....
This seems appropriate since we are usually acting out the worst facets of our personalities at the time...the opposite of our usually sunny selves...:)
On the days when Lyrech shows herself I feel like a completely different person, impatient, irritated...and believe it or not, somewhat....irrational...I know hard to believe isn't it. LOL I don't care for her....she isn't a very nice girl..... :)
Well yesterday wasn't one of those days, thankfully...and by the end of the day I was feeling pretty much back to normal....thanks in part to some great blogging friends!

The subject of alter egos came up again this morning on a TV morning show I was watching. The news anchor revealed the fact that when shopping with a couple of her good friends, they each pretend they are "some one who could actually afford the things they are buying"....:) I got a kick out of that one...maybe I should take up that practice. She said that although she can't afford to shop at Sax or Bloomingdales, her alter ego Tigger Montague certainly can! Isn't that hysterical?
I need me one of those personalities cause I certainly can't afford those shops either....
hmmmm...I could be Tipper Delaney.....does that sound sophistocated and rich, said with an accent of course? ...:) Do you have an alter ego personality and have you named him/her? Humor me, ok? I'll do something more serious later...:)

yep, i think we all have those moments that we just aren't ourselves. and the thump back down to earth is pretty hard for me (smile).

thanks for stopping by and reminding me of the honey/vinagar scripture, soooooo true. i just need to put these things into practice a little more often.

hope you all are doing well.

I'm glad someone finally admitted to this alter-ego business. Us guys have known it for centuries, but by some odd quirk of fate we are not allowed to say so.

You are a riot to bring this up. I thought I was the only one with an alter ego. My other name is Buffy Bufforfington and my mom's is Tiffy Bufforfington. Seems mom had neighbors when she was young with that last name and she always thought it sounded rich and snooty (lol), so when we call each other we ask for Tiffy or Buffy and change our voices to rich and snooty ... just in jest, but Oh is it fun! My daughters were not theirselves yesterday, if you care to check out my blog :)

You can take drugs for that you know! lol j/king..
my friends and I used to put on an english accent and go out for coffee, or shopping, it was amazing the different reaction people give you when you talk different.. it was a lot of fun! Thanks for answering my questions today! It's nice to hear someone else's view points!

For your name you can play the middle-name plus first street you lived on game...That would be Gracie Woodland here. We were having a "stage name" conversation along similar lines the other day. I think I prefer mine and hubby's middle names...Gracie Alan. Tipper, you and Gracie will have to go shopping some time ;)

I like beek-a-boo's idea - my name would be Ann Augusta - works for me...and I so have moments where I am NOT myself - or wish that I was ANYONE else....lol.

Never formed the alter ego thing myself, but there are definitely those days that I don't feel quite like myself...might have to think of a new name for that "person"...glad you're feeling a bit better.

Alter egos? Sure which one? I have three. If I use the backwards name thing for my monthly visitor she'd be Arabrab - the young wild one is Layla, the sophisticated one is Ashley O'Donnell :)

Seriously, do you think I need help?

Yes, I decidedly have one and I allow her to control me, periodically. She can be a monster who dosen't talk.... just groans. I don't care much for her. (And I am way past the monthly thing.) Her name is Harriet Schnicklefritz

Go away Harriet!

this post made me laugh! I guess I never really thought about naming my alter ego, I would be afraid it would then try to take over. lol, just kidding!

I hear enough voices that I am trying to IGNORE - do not want to encourage them, LOL!!!

Me??? Have an alter ego???? Yep, she takes over when I go shopping and persuades me to try on something from the Juniors department....thank goodness she leaves once I get to the dressing room and realize "what was I thinking????" :)
