Christmas Stuff

I guess you can tell I'm a pretty busy girl. :) So forgive me if I combine several good post ideas into one.

Jada and her caroling friends at our neighborhood caroling night.
Waiting for the caroling wagon with Aunt Bekah, just in from Hawaii.
Too much Christmas fun and a late night with "Chronicles of Narnia"
The local Candy Cane Hunt with new friends.

Building gingerbread houses at the local Candy Cane Hunt. It was about 30 degrees that day with a stiff breeze making gingerbread house building a chilling event. :) Of course the Caroling night it was about 55....Thats the South for you. Up and down like a yoyo this time of year.

So...there's some of what we've been up to. The Christmas Program at church is tomorrow night and J is excited that her mommy, daddy, auntie Bekak and Papi will be present..I only get a slight nod along with her Granny. :)

Hope you're having fun along the way this holiday season too!

How is it that these kids grow so fast? Jada is beautiful (still!!)

I think a candy cane hunt is a grand idea! It would have to be an indoor hunt here in the north - too much white stuff on the ground --we'd never find them until the Spring thaw!

Cheryl, my prayer for you this Christmas is that your heart will know His peace. In every moment, you'll see Him at work. Feeling the calm that He brings. And that you'll radiate this peace to all who see you ...and that they will be blessed through your ability to bask in the peace that passes all understanding.

Merry Christmas!!

Dear Jada,
I've come to wish you a happy prolonged Christmas.
I see you have had a good Advent time just like I like it.
Outdoor gingerbread baking is new to me...
Indoor gingerbreads are one of three cakes I do. They taste swell with a lot of frosting and M&Ms.

I guess by now you are busy organizing New Year clelebration.
I shall not disturb, but wish you all the best.
From Felisol

Dear Cheryl
I am slowly making the rounds today to each sister of the traveling scarf.
I first read the profile so that takes a little time, eh?
The pictures of the caroling night bring back so many childhood memories. When Dad Golden was in the air force, whatever base we were at, the Golden gang of kids, every Christmas season would go out singing from door to door.
Singing up a storm.
We were quite often offered money but even though we were poor, we really didn't think it was right, so we usually said no.
I say "usually", because one time we went to a door to sing and the lady who came to the door offered us a nickel and she said, "Sorry kids, I have such a terrible headache. Please just take this."
We could all see that the lady was full of pain, so we took the nickel because we felt so sorry for her. We were hoping in our hearts that it made her feel a little better because as she closed the door she smiled at us.

You seem such a rare and good lady that you care for children. This is what kids need nowadays, Cheryl....adults that have never "grown up" inside and have a soft spot for the kids!
God bless you and your family and Happy New Years!...Love Terry
