Work...work..work...repeat....

Somebody brought in goodies today to work..and yesterday....AND the day before....yum!... but at this rate I'm gonna gain 10 lbs before Christmas! Who can resist pecan squares or baklava, lemon cookies or mint fudge brownies?!?! Its just awful really....I'm finishing off the baklava even as we speak...apparently I am the only one who truly loves it... :) everyone else has deferred to me...lol
Busy week....as I suppose they all will be til after the New Year...
Worked Sat and Sun....my son was in town with his band on Monday which required a "mom cooked meal" and a trip to see the band perform...lots of new songs etc so it was fun...but I'm not really used to the smokey bar type atmosphere and staying out til all hours...what a way to start the week after finishing a week that didn't ever actually end....but I got to see my baby...:) my 26 year old baby boy..:) He's wonderful and I love him to bits! He'll be home for almost 2 weeks at Christmas time...yeah!! (blogger won't let me post pics...drat!! he's so cute!)
Working a lot...a lot!... didn't get home til midnight last nite...gotta be there again tonight...this 2nd job thing is rough during holidays when so much other is happening..
Hoping to be
here on Sunday night for their Living Christmas presentation....
trying to get my lists in order so I get everything done over the next few weeks...
planning on a
Thrasher Christmas for the kiddos, maybe a little ice skating here...and a Country Christmas here.....
Of course there are special meals to be planned and a family goodie making event when the girls all arrive....
so I have my work cut out for me.... working, shopping, cleaning and cooking...then repeat...lol...
I will finally be "off" on Sat so perhaps I can make a dent in the "other" jobs on my list....I think leaf blowing is first on the list(our yard is a sea of leaves)...then perhaps that Christmas tree will actually get put up and decorated(the decorations are currently strewn about the floor)...some shopping...the gift and grocery kind....hmmm wonder if I can squeeze in some house cleaning?...
whew...think I'll get to sleep any time soon? I keep reminding myself that I ran on 6 or less hrs of sleep nightly the entire time I was raising my kids...I can do this! (any words of encouragement will be greatly appreciated...:)) Work now and play later...that's my motto!
and who knows..maybe I'll actually burn more calories that I take in....
....naaah....

I remember those working days and the holiday goodies. I worked with all men so I was pretty much the baker and maker and I have never seen a more thankful crowd. Even the poor JW guy couldn't stand to come in my office because he couldn't participate because of his religion but his taste buds said otherwise.

I am in awe of all you do. So much to keep up with. Girl, remember to take care of yourself too. Yes, you appear to be the Real Superman but just in case, you aren't...LOL.

I'm exhausted just reading through your post ;)!!! What no pictures of the band??? I'm disappointed. BTW...if I were there you would have to share the baklava...my favorite!!

I loved clicking on all the "here" spots! It brings it all home to see what your talking about. If I worked with you, you'd have to share that baklava..it's one of my faves!
Sounds like lots of fun things coming up, you must have lots of energy!

The only comfort I can offer is...at least you aren't moving! It'll get done. You always pull of holiday miracles! Glad you got to see Jeff. We WILL have a great Christmas, like we always do. I promise!

leaf blowing?!....ah yes...you live in the south!

My goodness, I think we're all just going to completely collapse in January. If I had a brain, I'd work on Christmas all year long instead of going nuts in December. I don't envy you holding down these long hours right now.

I hate to tell you, you have no idea how fast that baklava would disappear if I were anywhere near it. I should learn to make it, much as I love it. I'm going to go see if I have a recipe for it - heaven knows I have enough cookbooks!

You sound busy but happy!

Wish I was helping you devour the baklava - I love it!

Hope you have a wonderful Holiday :)

'Tis the season! But I love it, don't you? Would love to see pics of that handsome boy of yours. Blogger is really moody lately. I finally was able to post again. Hope you manage some good sleep in between all the activities. I've already gained 3 lbs. towards that seasonal 10. Yikes! Wish I didn't love chocolate so much.

Girl, I wish I could come over there and help you out. My place is a wreck this week. Will scurry to get things picked up soon, though. Finally got our tree up and the porch lights done. Trying to slow down a bit to absorb a little quiet time...at least the shopping's done:-)

hugs & blessings,
V.
