Twas the week before Christmas....

Good Monday, the week before Christmas, morning!!
We're getting excited at our house! I have spent the last few days working and making lists and trying to faithfully carry out my lists...lol
My son arrived early this morning!! yay!! He drove overnight from Philly and arrived about 7:30 am...much to our surprise and pleasure! He'll be going straight to bed I'm sure...His girlfriend will be joining us later today from FL...the other kids are making plans to head up on Thursday and we're getting set for a fun, fun holiday. The sea of leaves is growing smaller...the groceries are purchased...the house is almost decorated..(said son will be helping with that tree trimming thing :))...everyone has an assigned place to sleep...(big one) :) gifts are almost all bought...not wrapped but I'll have help by Friday...whew! its a lot to cover but we're getting there. It feels like an Andy Williams kind of Christmas...with out snow...its hovering in the 70s right now....

Guess what?? I am expending more energy than I am taking in calories!!! That means I am actually LOSING weight during the holidays!! Is that possible???! and more importantly, will it last? Don't hate me.....:) I promise to eat lots and lots of cookies and chocolate and have big meals every day for a week....then we'll see what happens...lol
Have a wonderful holiday week! I know I am!

I just checked our temp. ... it's 17 degrees outside ... clear blue skies, but cold. And since I have a warm and cozy little house on the prairie, It doesn't bother me. But I'd hate to be an unfortunate soul without a place to hang my hat, brrrrr! Sounds like your household is all a-buzz with activity. Was your son's arrival a complete surprise? Either way, how nice to have him under your roof for a while :)

I had to laugh - you and I have the same title today.

Great minds think alike. I hope you have a great week, my friend.

Enjoy every moment of it and eat lots and lots of cookies!

Wow, I sauntered over and we have a lot in common! I'm a listmaker myself and have this organization fetish.

Your son is gorgeous, by the way!

I'm all wrapped for Christmas. Phew. I don't love doing it anymore.

I also lost weight during this holiday season. This is a Twilight moment for me.

If you garden, I may pass out.

What a wonderful Christmas you're going to have. There's nothing better than having the family arrive and all the special arrangements for sleeping and the chaos. Nothing. It's my favorite time of the year!

And yes, I always lose a few pounds this time of year, too. I've never really understood how gain weight during the holidays. I don't sit down long enough for the calories to catch me. :-)

This is probably why all us moms sort of collapse when it's all over!

He's a cutie...I see the family resemblance:-) HAVE FUN!! I love it when all my three and their spouses come over...the house sorta rocks...lol...

Merry Christmas! And yay on the weight loss. I lost 4, then gained back 2 after taste-testing some baking. Ah, but I'm a little yo-yo anyway.

Hugs,
V.

Sounds just wonderful! And even though it's summer here, the temperature is just the same. I'm enjoying my build up to Christmas too, taking it steady and slow and enjoying the moments. Expect to have a relaxing bbq on Christmas day for lunch, with family all out on verandah, with salads and cold meats/bbq. Lovely. Merry Christmas to you and yours, and Santa: Can I please lose weight too?
